AMLAR on the LIBE-ECON agenda of 15 June | AML, CFT, European Parliament

Tomorrow AMLAR, the regulation regarding the new AML/CFT authority, Authority for Countering Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (AMLA), is on the agenda of the joint meeting of the ECON and LIBE committees of the European Parliament. The discussion on establishing AMLA will take place from 14.30 – 15.15.

Rapporteurs for the two committees are Luis Garicano (Renew, ES) and Emil Radev (EPP, BG).

Agenda and documents are to be found here (item 8 on the agenda).

AMLAR is part of the ‘AML package’ of the European Commission that will create an authoritarian top-down system and will cause a landslide in the European fight against money laundering and terrorist financing and will potentially erode the fundamental rights of European citizens.

An overview of the AML package is to be found on this page. Posts are found with the tags , , , and .
