The European Banking Authority (EBA) is working on a database with financial institutions that do not properly comply with AML/CFT rules. Read their article ‘The EBA paves the way for setting up a central database on anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism‘.
It fits in with the general trend of risk assessment and blacklisting as promoted by FATF and the European Commission and is part of the low trust society that is emerging. These rules that scare people and their organisations (‘regelgeving van de angst‘) will eventually lead to people being unable to work in industries that have such regulations.
