Article Filippo Noseda on the EU’s Advocate General’s Opinion on EU Public Registers | AML, CFT

UK lawyer Filippo Noseda wrote an article (pdf) for Tax Notes on the EU’s Advocate General’s Opinion on EU public registers of beneficial owners. In this article Noseda discusses the EU’s Advocate General’s opinion in relation to the compatibility of public registers with the fundamental rights to privacy and data protection, (Sovim case, C-601/20). He argues that the Advocate General’s recent opinion in the case could undermine the fundamental right of privacy regarding taxpayer data.
