In this document, the CCBE analyses the main risks and challenges posed by the use of remote working tools by lawyers, especially in relation to fundamental rights, professional secrecy and legal professional privilege, and GDPR compliance. The CCBE furthermore provides recommendations to be implemented in the context of remote court proceedings in order to ensure that the right to a fair trial is respected.
