EU signs international tax agreements with European countries | CRS

In October 2025 the EU signed several international tax agreements, with Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco and San Marino and with Switzerland. According to the press releases the amending protocols ensure that the information exchanges continue to take place in accordance with EU rules on data protection. It is to be hoped that the amended agreements also comply with other fundamental European principles. A similar amending protocol is proposed for Norway.

Still there is no international agreement between the EU and the US that replaces the FATCA-agreements of the Member States and ensures the fundamental rights of EU residents.
