Is Europe making complicated legislation that only large companies, that can spend a lot of money on lawyers, can understand? I surely have that impression, an example is the anti-money laundering legislation. Corporate Social Responsibility (‘CSR’) also looks as a topic for large companies, some of them in the meantime try to finance their enterprises by paying the small and medium-sized enterprises that supply them after 90 days. It is necessary that CSR is also to include the decent treatment of SME-suppliers by large companies.
CSR and SMEs | European survey
Europe is currently inviting Europeans to participate in a survey on the uptake of Corporate Social Responsibility (‘CSR’) by European small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups. The survey starts here. The survey is particularly aimed at SMEs (up to 250 employees) that operate in the following sectors:
- Agro-food industry
- Textile and garment industry
- Transport
- Retail trade
- Pharmaceuticals
- Mining and quarrying
- Tourism and hospitality
- Banking, finance and insurance
We’ll see if Europe is going to take into account the position and possibilities of SMEs.

Wat opvalt in de survey: Nederlandse vennootschappen lijken niet te kunnen deelnemen.
