CCBE manifesto for the 2014 European elections | “Improving justice in Europe”.

European lawyers organisation CCBE (Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe) has presented a manifesto for the 2014 European elections. The title of the manifesto is “Improving justice in Europe”.

Their key proposals for the coming legislative session are:

  • Ending mass electronic surveillance of European citizens and their lawyers;
  • Making justice affordable for citizens;
  • Securing sufficient procedural safeguards in criminal law;
  • Delivering e-justice to citizens and businesses.
