Open State Foundation (OSF), a government and millionaire funded NGO that is responsible for (amongst others) the marketing of beneficial ownership registers, published the UBO Atlas, an overview of Ultimate Beneficial Ownership registers across the EU.
OSF has the opinion that the personal data in trade registers and registers of beneficial owners should be open to the public. It does not respect the dataprotection interests of the people registered.
The transparency illusions of the policy makers endanger the dataprotection rights of data subjects registered in the trade registers and registers of beneficial owners.
People who are directors, shareholders or holders of depositary receipts in legal entities and partnerships are also entitled to dataprotection.
