Report on AI adoption in public administrations + the warning of the Dutch Cyber Security Council

According to a publication announced by the Joint Research Centre of the Commission (JRC) the main challenges of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions are trustworthiness and organisational and cultural change. The paper is published here.

It is interesting to see if AI is to earn trust, when it is associated with online violence and other irregularities and is increasingly being used by criminals, as, among others, the Dutch Cyber Security Council warns (in Dutch) (machine translation):

AI is increasingly being used as a weapon, and the Netherlands is ill-prepared for this. With the use of artificial intelligence (AI), cyberattacks are faster, larger in scale and harder to detect, whilst the Netherlands’ defensive capabilities are too weak to counter these attacks due to a lack of AI expertise. The Cyber Security Council (CSR) therefore advises the government to accelerate the development of AI expertise and to express political support for initiatives such as organising a Grand Challenge in collaboration with the scientific community and the business sector.
